This opportunity has been provided to me, and my fellow participants by the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, if you are interested in learning more please do not hesitate to look at some of the amazing work this organization is doing. Who has two thumbs and just finished a 170 km bike ride?

THIS GUY!!!
Nimon Hao!
April in the Chinese national month of Ben's travels... not really... but kind of. So we start of my whirlwind month of travel with a bike ride to the countryside.  We rode our bike to the "near by" town of JiYuan.  This ride was pretty awesome and pretty exhausting.  Here are some ncie photos from our ride.

With such a long history, there are museums in every little town and village in China.

The wheat is starting to sprout.

Here is a fantastic place to play a game or too of pool or get Tetanus.

Just a nice casual bike ride in the country side

Just a normal Shepard, and his sheep and goats... I think I might eat one of these little guys later.

Do you see it? What an odd way to get breakfast...

A rather vicious guard dog...

The crossing of the Yellow River

I think I'm being followed

Wheat and plastic farms...

Welcome to JiLi, which means Lucky town (but it shares the same sound with the word for "Chicken")

Now leaving Chicken town...

Stop following me!

A window... in a hill... to a house... in a hill... oh...
Yay... another hill...
Fields of wheat hidden in every nook and cranny

A neighborhood of cave houses... Old school

Nothing says "healthy bike ride" like having a smoke break

Spring is here
Depression is such a huge problem in China that it's started to hit their foliage...

This road doesn't look like it'll be ending anytime soon...
No shooting lasers are cups and shuttlecocks (tee hee)

Hard to see here, the square peak is actually a shrine

There be monkeys here... mean smelly monkeys... that try and steal cameras... stupid primates

What a sweet couple

There's that shrine again

Nice hotel room... super uncomfortable bed...

Sun setting on the shrine, well near the shrine...

Grilled potato chips, SOOOOOO tasty

This is what the chick tried to do...
So we took it's wings... HA! HA! HA!

Now you can see the shrine... kind of...

MMMM... this beef tastes odd... like Donkey...

Back in Luoyang... well almost

My allergies worst nightmare! (not Li the flowers)

Layers of wheat and vegetation

Another sad tree...

Can you spot the wild life?

Come on already... this hill isn't gonna finish it self

CHAMPION!

Colored layers

That's one way to transport your re-bar

Some parts of Spring are still trying to ... well... spring
Next week... the school trip
